volunteers to help

From: "Kathy Polias" <kpolias@uyghurs.org>

The UHRC is looking for more volunteers to help move  three specific campaigns that we are working on forward: (1) Campaign to Free Famous Uyghur Businesswoman Rabiye Kadir; (2) Campaign to Urge BP Amoco to Pull out of Xinjiang Pipeline Project and to Divest from PetroChina; (3) Campaign to Stop Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan from Forcibly Returning Uyghur Political Refugees to China.  For more information on these three campaigns, go to:  http://www.uyghurs.org/campaigns.htm

We need people to work on: publicizing these three campaigns to the public, other organizations, the U.S. government, and the press; developing materials in addition to the ones we already have for these three campaigns (such as petitions, postcards, action sheets, etc.); and keeping on top of the news related to these three campaigns.  Much of the coordinating can be done over e-mail and the phone, so you don't need to live in DC (where we're based) to help us with these campaigns.      We at the UHRC are going to be very busy next semester building the student movements at our 6 FOCUS universities--American University (DC), George Washington University (DC), Univ. of Maryland-College Park (MD), Stanford University (CA), UC-Berkeley (CA), and Univ. of Washington (WA).  Therefore, we desperately need volunteers to help with the individual campaigns./
