Statement of Uyghur American Association

The Uyghur American Association expresses it's gratitude and
appreciation for the years of hard work and effort of Mr. Erkin
Alptekin.

The Uyghur American Association recognizes his unique qualifications
and historical role that the entire Alptekin family has performed in
the history of Eastern Turkestan. Both Erkin Alptekin and his father,
Isa Yusuf Alptekin have performed an immeasurable service to not only
the people of Eastern Turkestan, but the world, in their quest for
human rights and human dignity.

The Uyghur American Association also acknowledges the leadership of
Mr. Erkin Alptekin as a true freedom fighter, gallantly continuing
his non-violent approach to the resolution of issue of Eastern
Turkestan for many years.

The Uyghur American Association:

1. Acknowledges Mr. Erkin Alptekin as the unofficial leader of the
people of Eastern Turkestan.

2. Acknowledges Mr. Erkin Alptekin as our guide, mentor and unnamed
member of the Board of Directors.

3. Calls on all peoples to extend the courtesy due to a leader of a
free country to Mr. Erkin Alptekin, to listen carefully when he
speaks, and follow their conscience when he is done.
