Suspects and Wounded
Four since April

Washington, June 18 (UIA) - Two suspects died and four
wounded while resisting police arrest in Urumchi, the
capital of "Xinjiang", since China launched a
nationwide "Strike Hard" campaign in April, China's
state media reported on Monday.
According to China News Service report, since April
Urumchi police in their pursuit of criminal elements
shot and killed two suspects and wounded four at four
different times and locations after they resisted
arrest with knives or guns.
On April 3rd, Urumchi Tianshan (Tengri Tagh) District
police shot and killed suspect Wang XX who resisted
arrest with a knife in his hand, the report said. On
April 29th, Urumchi First Division police shot and
killed alleged terrorist Mai XX who resisted arrest
with a handgun, the report said.
On May 13th, Urumchi Anti-drug police shot and wounded
two suspected drug-dealers that resisted arrest with
hammers in their hands, the report said. On May 23rd,
Urumchi police in pursuit of alleged robbers and
murderers in Ili (Ghulja) region shot and wounded Liu
XX and Fu XX, two suspects out of four, the report
said.
According to the report, Urumchi police fired warning
shots only in the last two cases, where in the first
two cases, they killed the suspects without warning.
All the names in the report except the alleged
terrorist [Mai XX] indicate the suspects were of Han
ethnicity.
The Chinese definition of "terrorism" is so broad that
almost any Uyghur who happens to carry a gun is
considered a terrorist or extremist by the Chinese
government. China only charges and executes Uyghurs in
the name of "terrorism" and "religious extremism" while
terrifying crimes including bombing of apartment
buildings, train derailment, and killing of government
officials committed by the Chinese [Han] are by no
means considered terrorism.
Most of the Uyghurs executed by the Chinese government
in recent years were charged with "terrorism" while no
Chinese has ever been charged with or executed for
terrorism since P. R. China was founded in 1949.
