MORE POLITICAL PRISONERS FACE IMMINENT EXECUTION

According to the information obtained from
our contact in East Turkistan (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region ) ,
Chinese authorities may execute at least five more political prisoners in
two weeks time. One of the names on the execution list is Hemit Memet who, along
with Kasim Mahpur and Ilyas Zordun has been detained by the Chinese authorities
since their deportation from Kasakstan in 1999. Hemit Memetís brother
Zulfikar Memet was executed on 14 June 2000. Hemit Memet is said to have been
kept in the same jail cell where his brother was kept before his execution. We
are still trying to find out the names of the four others on the list.
